Surf, trash & rockabilly are the main ingredients of Aloha Sluts' music.
Some have called it Surfabillily, some named it out of tune trash!
To quote a German music-zine: "Link Wray after a heavy night of tequila smashing with The Cramps and Dick Dale... wild fuzzy and reverb drenched guitar, pulsating groovy basslines, backed by a traditional rockabilly beat."
The band started as a solo project by former Los Cheatos guitar player Arny in 2002 and evolved in a real band four years later. In 2015 the second line up of the band released a vinyl EP on Tombstone Records which got great reviews in the international surf scene. One of the songs, 'Gaywatch' stayed in the top 3 of the Australian surf rock charts for more than 21 weeks, with 3 weeks on the number one spot! The EP completely sold out.
The band played the biggest surf festival in the World, Surfer Joe Summer Fest in Livorno, Italy and played twice at Belgiums alternative rock festival Sjock.
In 2019 it was time for something different and together with two young local musicians, Arny returned to his roots. Less rockabilly, more surfrock. More Link Wray than Dick Dale and with a more fuzzy garagerock sound, the band played several succesfull gigs and had a full calendar.... until Covid 19. The pause was used to write new songs and re-arrange some old audience favorites.
