Josh Bassett

Bassett is a Los Angeles based rock act founded by New Jersey-native vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Josh Bassett. The Bassett sound is organic and vibrant, meshing the power and edge of rock with moods and textures that extend beyond the typical rock realm, drawing from an extensive background in instrumental music.
Bassett offers a freshly unique and diverse sound, stretching from the electrified power of a full band to intimate acoustic based arrangements. Bassett has performed extensively in the US frequenting the LA, NYC and Phoenix areas the most. The debut album Vanishing was co-produced by Josh and Francois Descamps and was independently released. Bassist Corey McCormick (Chris Cornell, Neil Young, Lukas Nelson), and Drummer Mark Poiesz (Tyler Farr, Ghost Of Gloria) performed on half the album with Josh handling all instruments on the rest. The single “Bring Me Back Down” had a stunning music video shot in San Francisco, which showed the band performing in the cold pacific ocean waters at Baker Beach and on building rooftops. The more acoustic based 2nd EP, Ghost Hwy, was independently recorded/produced/released and was inspired by the vast deserts of California. Ghost Hwy, the music video and EP received extensive indie music press in outlets such as Huffington Post, AXS, and blogs such as Mad Mackerel and Sunset In The Rearview. New and unreleased EP Elysian Sun was recorded recently with producer Rocco Guarino and is currently being shopped in hopes of a label-backed release.
Bassett also produces music for film and commercial brands. Anchor Bay Films horror movie “Muck”, indie horror film “Kill Her Goats” and fashion brand “GM Studio” all recently feature scoring and original music by Bassett.
