Gitaar

Michael Bennett Being able to play and enjoy music is a gift that's often taken for granted. This music is a mixture of my own creations, along with some collaborations with others.
Band/artist history
I started playing guitar when I was about 12 years old, then came The Beatles and I went from Ventures to Rock 'n' Roll and then Sweet Soul Music and Funk. Born in Maine there was country music all around me so there's that too. I'm all about music without boundaries. In these pages you will hear a variety of music and sounds. I hope that you find something that you like. "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." - Hunter S Thompson
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Bands I've been in have opened for The Grassroots, Felix Cavaliere, B.J. Thomas, Eric Burden and many more. These days I choose when and where I want to play and keep it fairly local around New England. I could write a book about my travels and gigs and might just do that.
Your musical influences
I like a wide variety of music. Some of my influences include Michael Bloomfield, John Jorgenson, Jeff Beck, Kenny Burrell, Tommy Tedesco, Jimmy Bryant, Albert Lee, Steve Lukather and many friend's music here on SoundClick.
What equipment do you use?
Fender and Gibson electrics, Korg and Akai keyboards, a couple acoustics, a uke, and the usual suspects of amps.
Anything else?
Never put your key to happiness in someone else's pocket!
Russ McRee is a studio-based guitarist, composer, and producer... always learning, always reaching. While it has been many years since live performance was a factor in his portfolio, he's been continuously honing and refining his work, with the intent of making it ready for use in film, TV, video, and advertising music production. The Gemini Rising EP represents his latest, and humbly, best work to date, where Emigrate and Stroll are the standout tracks.
